About Me

My name is Amy, and I am a child of God, daughter, wife, mother of two toddlers and a music therapist by trade, currently a stay-at-home mom. As you think of your own life, you fulfill so many roles! I would like to share my journey and the things I am learning along the way in hopes that I can encourage or inspire others who are going through this season of life. Before having my daughters, I worked as a music therapist in long-term care for 12 years and married my life’s love at the age of 36. We first met at a contra-dance and our love of playing music led to our friendship and growing love for each other (he plays the banjo and I play the fiddle). Our first daughter was born when I was 37, and our second daughter was born when I was a few months shy of my 39th birthday. I hope that I can be an encouragement to mothers who are starting out later in life as well as mothers of any age, because motherhood regardless of age is such an amazing and life-changing experience.

I hope to bring ideas to my readers that will help them improve their quality of life with their families by sharing some insights about growing in faith, strengthening relationships with your husband and children, saving time- so there is more of you to be present with your loved ones, and the joys in simple and thrifty living.

Our baby girls were born 18 months apart and having them in my life is teaching me so much! Turning 40 with two toddlers has been such a joy and has really changed my perspectives on life, love and time in so many ways! If I can be of any help or encouragement to other mamas, I would like to share ideas that have made a difference in our lives. By practicing the frugality passed on to me by my parents in my single years, I was able to purchase my first home when I was 29 and was able to support my mom who came to live with me until I was married. I want to share ways to save money whether you are trying to build savings or to overcome debt. Choosing to be a stay-at-home mom has been another life-changing experience for me. I would like to share what this has meant for our family, and some creative ways to live on a single income while finding ways to earn a supplemental income from home.

Your time as a mama is so valuable and limited, so I really appreciate you taking the time to read about this blog! I want to help you maximize your time, finances and most importantly encourage you to fall more in love with your family every day. I want to invite you to subscribe to my blog, and I will send you updates on information that I think will be meaningful to you and free printables that will be useful or inspirational to you. But I promise not to clutter your inbox with a flood of emails! This is a new adventure for me, so please check back as I will be adding more material weekly. God bless you and your family!
